Just a fun side project—to improve my own speaking & communication skills.
Disclaimer: listen on your risk; my voice kinda sucks lol.

I decided to write only when I feel that I have something compelling to share instead of forcing myself to make everything into content
(Also I chose to not make this a business which gives me the privilege to do so but yes)
@iamvritant Thank you Vritant! I used to wanna churn out so much and I have been feeling overwhelmed and dreading writing for too long even after my ~6 months break. Now I’m just trying to find something sustainable for me in the long term!
Hopefully i won’t burn out (or whatever rut this is) this time and actually fall back in love with writing again which I miss so much, but just dread doing, ironically.
Out of all the drafts, this felt the most compelling. To create because I wanted to tell a story, not because I felt I had to or wanted to create content for the sake of it. Purely for me.
I’ve gotten really good at one thing: moving the needle forward.
A successful day for me looks like this:
- having written and published blog post
- having composed some music, making as much progress as I can on the current commission project
Reading old Substack posts and feeling…so…ughh about it. What was I thinking when I wrote them??
I’m not revisiting the ones on Medium…
I don’t really use this word but…*cringe*
Finally wrote an article again, after roughly a 6 month break from writing at all (okay, my school essays and thesis don’t count)
Collating a list for my Live In(spiration) newsletter definitely isn’t it!
It’s just nice to finally pour out so many feelings onto a page again.
The best way to start feeling better about yourself is to stop convincing people of who you are and start showing up in the world as the person you want to be. You don’t need to convince, you just need to be it.

can we normalize emotionally supporting ppl when they bring up something emotional? like can we stop jumping to intellectualize? can we stop telling them what needs fixing or jumping to solutions? if someone says how they feel, it’s ok to just respond acknowledging the feeling
Taking time off is so necessary. It's so tempting for me to jump on my laptop and research and write and get right back into it.
But I know how important it is to step back, let myself breathe, and gain new perspectives.
Though, kind of but not quite similarly, as an artist working for clients, you definitely need to be creating work that pleases that client instead of creating what you truly want to, to some extent as well to make money and have more clients
But it’s still very different.
THIS. About contents creation. Art has increasingly becoming more about content and pleasing the algorithm and less about being creative and artistically good.

Many are teaching other aspiring creators, maybe even artists to go viral instead. If you see courses offered, it’s more of how to go viral on x platform, or how to make x amount of money every other month or week.
