@Niall_Boylan This is not normal summer weather. Nobody will convince me. It starts to get off the ground mid May and they spray the shit out of the sky....
It’s June in Dublin. 15 degrees, grey skies, cloud, drizzle , miserable and enough wind to remind you summer is merely a figment of our imagination.
Strange how we only hear from RTÉ and George “Doomsday” Lee when there’s a warm day in May. When it’s cold, wet and miserable in the middle of June, the climate catastrophe seems to take a day off.
Ken o Flynn is worth a billion Micheal martins. He’s tuned in. Any time I hear him thundering away in Leinster house it gives me a little bit of hope in these very sad times. Our gorgeous little country is on life support. 😞
Limerick Fianna Fáil TD, Willie O’Dea, has called on his party leader, Michéal Martin, to hold a referendum on the Triple Lock.
“How about a referendum people actually want, like on the Triple Lock?”

Disappointing to see a leaving cert exam paper question ignoring the scientific reality that only women can get pregnant. Well done to Aontú's Senator Sarah O'Reilly for calling this out in the Daily Mail today 👏
🚨🚨URGENT: CHILDREN'S BOOKS OF IRELAND, LIBRARIES, AND SCHOOL BOOKS REQUIRE A FULL INVESTIGATION - LET'S NOT WAIT ANOTHER 3 YEARS.
In 2023, during our nationwide campaign to remove sexually explicit and ideologically driven books from children's library sections, we held a public assembly outside Children's Books of Ireland (CBI).
At the time, TDs, Government Ministers, RTÉ, the Ombudsman for Children, An Garda Síochána, and CBI were all made fully aware of our concerns regarding the presence of this material. Rather than engaging with the child safeguarding issues we raised, our concerns were dismissed. We were labelled "extremists," "far-right," and "thugs spreading hate against the LGBTQI community."
RTÉ also attempted to discredit me personally - and ignored the detailed child protection concerns I set out in my Right of Reply. (see comments- I read out their letter and my reply) The focus was placed on attacking those raising concerns rather than addressing the substance of the issues being highlighted.
We welcome Peadar's call for an investigation and believe it reflects the growing public concern surrounding this matter. However, serious questions must now be asked as to why urgent action was not taken when these concerns were raised during our nationwide campaign in 2023.
If an investigation is now deemed necessary, why were repeated warnings ignored for the past three years? Most importantly, how many children may have been exposed to harmful or age-inappropriate content during that time?
Ireland can potentially exit the EU Migration and Asylum Pact by exercising its opt-out rights under Protocol 21 of the Lisbon Treaty, which allows flexibility on justice and home affairs measures...! #optout
