The Naturalization Act of 1790 (1 Stat. 103) was the first federal law in the United States to establish a uniform rule for citizenship. It limited naturalization to "free white persons" of "good character" who had resided in the country for at least two years.
#1: Today is the anniversary of the ass*ssination of Robert F. Kennedy at the Ambassador Hotel, minutes after he won the 1968 California Primary. He was supposed to exit through the ballroom, but a certain culprit "spontaneously" diverted him to the pantry, where assassins were waiting for him.
