CREEL's @AshyBest is this year's AALTRA research prize winner for her article 'Material vulnerabilities and interspecies relationalities: a critical appraisal of the legal status of animals in disasters', published in the Griffith Law Review. Congratulations Ashleigh!
We’re here at the Light Room and the author herself is bringing the books over to the signing corner! Looking forward to seeing many friends here for the book launch of #TheComfortingWeightOfWater by @mc_roanna, out from @Wakefield_Press 🤩

@DrKatyBarnett Great article! I think property law is one of the most theoretically rich, and at times curiously dissonant fields out there, especially from the animal perspective. Also, robust doctrinal work is, in my view, a compelling foundation for critique 👌
@lesleyhitchens@UTS@UTSLaw@UTSEngage The end of an era! Enjoy your retirement, Lesley. And thank you for everything you did to make UTS Law exceptional.
Last week, CREEL and @MelbLawSchool bid farewell to Professor Lee Godden, outgoing CREEL Director. Lee is heading to VUW to take up the position of Dean of the Faculty of Law. Good luck Lee!

@LizHcks Also, Edelman J’s dualistic reasoning here is a concern. The object of anti cruelty legislation is different to that of the implied freedom. They can operate concurrently; it’s not an either/ or proposition.
Delighted to have a small slice of my PhD research published in the Griffith Law Review! ‘Material vulnerabilities and interspecies relationalities: a critical appraisal of the legal status of animals in disasters’ https://t.co/T58VfpHWPE
@cardboardsky Hopefully you spotted some changes, and the shout out to First Drafts haha! I’m storing up that brilliant quote from The Little Prince - it was 👌👌👌 and has stayed with me.
@cardboardsky Thanks so much Sanam, and thanks for your brilliant feedback ☺️ I sadly couldn’t incorporate all the great comments in this manuscript due to the stage it was at, but I’ve kept many in mind for future pieces of work!!
