@koshercockney You should be more worried about stopping this in the US before it gets to past the tipping point as it has in Europe. OR it's coming to a neighborhood near you. And SOON. Our time is running out. At this point the only option is to vote red, or our country is dead.
@CRFB_USA Fixed it for you: Kroger is cutting 3,000 MORE jobs in America. Thousands have already been lost via layoffs and people quitting after seeing the writing on the wall.
@Joeoltmann This is Spamberger being set up to run for president in 2028. This will be but a feather in her cap. She is CIA trained and coached. She'll present as a genius & savior of the party over the likes of AOC and Newsom.
@MrAndyNgo "Shockingly"??? Really? You're in awe and disbelief that Islamic Muslims believe that their sole purpose is to conquer the world into one Islamic Calfate under Sharia law?
@PlumbNick Very good. Now do this same dive into Qatar and other Muslim countries who have been developing and selling curriculum to US schools for decades.
@MaxUtilitarian@JLM4CivilRights@cafreiman "To those that never have" AND are capable of reading at this level, AND have reading comprehension capabilities... Unfortunately, just narrowed the field significantly... 🙄
Wow. Ummm - how do I explain this? This has little to do with Israel. Islam's goal is to take over the United States. Their "BS war" is to overtake America, (aka Big Satan.) Which will affect you MANY bits. Unless you enjoy being graped? Being submissive? Have no rights? Will look cute in a burka? Read something other than tiktok.
@MarkBai24158085@Gabriele_Corno Strange? Are you a wannabe Candace or something? I suggest you enlist, tough guy, and see how you do in an actual combat situation.
@bennyjohnson Note that he keeps saying he'll follow LOCAL law - NOT FEDERAL LAW. Not even state law. Local laws that he can create out of thin air with a stroke of a pen. That's the ONLY "law" he agrees to follow.
The problem is not JD Vance’s position on Israel. The problem is that he is a postliberal, and his treatment of Israel reflects the postliberal way of understanding politics, power, the West, and the American constitutional order.
People have to stop reducing this to an “Israel issue.” Israel is not the underlying issue. It is a diagnostic. It reveals the framework through which he sees the world.
The real question is what he believes about the liberal constitutional order in the United States. Does he believe government exists within fixed moral and constitutional limits, with rights that precede the state and a conscience the state may not command? Or does he believe political power should be reorganized around a substantive vision of the common good, administered by leaders who believe they are entitled to decide what social outcomes must be produced?
That is the postliberal question.
His arguments about Israel matter because they are not isolated foreign-policy opinions. They reveal how he thinks about alliances, national interest, inherited obligations, institutional restraint, moral persuasion, and the use of state power. They are expressions of a broader political philosophy.
This is why the conversation keeps going nowhere. Everyone is staring at Israel while missing the worldview that determines how Israel is being discussed. They are arguing over one branch while refusing to examine the root.
The concern is not that he holds one unacceptable opinion about a foreign country. The concern is that his views reflect a movement that has lost confidence in the American founding itself and increasingly regards constitutional restraints, individual rights, religious liberty, and freedom of conscience as obstacles to achieving its preferred conception of the common good.
That is the real argument.
It is not principally about Israel. It is about America. It is about whether the constitutional order is something to be preserved, or something to be displaced by a postliberal political project.
And the problem is that almost nobody is actually making that argument. The debate has become so consumed by tribalism over Israel that people cannot see what the issue represents. Supporters and critics alike keep treating Israel as the whole controversy, when it is only the place where a much larger political vision has become visible.
And this is why Israel is the ideal issue for every single enemy of the United States to use at the same time to clobber us over the head with.
Until people can get past the tribalism surrounding Israel, they will continue to miss the real conflict. They will mistake the symptom for the disease, the battleground for the war, and a foreign-policy dispute for what is ultimately a struggle over the future of the American constitutional order.
I can’t believe how many people cannot grasp that fact. Still.
