The Culture of Speed-Running Knowledge
إِنَّا سَنُلْقِي عَلَيْكَ قَوْلًا ثَقِيلًا
“Indeed, We shall send down to you a heavy word.”
The Prophet ﷺ received revelation over the span of 23 years. When it was revealed, if his camel was standing, it would kneel. On occasions, the weather would be extremely cold, yet when it was revealed, ʿĀʾishah said that he ﷺ would be sweating. Zayd b. Thābit said Allah sent revelation down upon His Messenger ﷺ while his thigh was resting upon mine, and it became so heavy upon me that I feared it would crush my thigh.
Abū ʿAbd al-Raḥmān al-Sulamī said that the Companions would learn 10 verses and not go beyond them until they learned the knowledge and action within them, saying:
“Thus, we learned both knowledge and action together.”
(مسند أحمد 23482)
Ibn ʿUmar took 4 years to learn al-Baqarah.
(الطبقات الكبرى لابن سعد 4/123)
Countless examples showing the patience, steady progress and diligence of the Salaf in seeking knowledge. It is not a light matter to be recited and forgotten in a few number of days.
Knowledge is heavy and acquired through tadarruj: slowly, steadily, with understanding and application.
This is an example of how performative pseudo-students are bred. Long lists of books studied with little to no grounding, retention and understanding. It cheapens knowledge and turns seeking knowledge into a race for titles captured.
Racing through many major books in 12 days impresses only those who have never smelled the fragrance of knowledge. Yet another blunder in the list of blunders from this individual which only does more for his pretentious resume than anyone else.

The library of the noble Shaikh, Al-‘Allāmah, Rabee’ ibn Hādī al-Madkhalī (may Allah’s mercy be upon him) is now open, and welcomes visitors to benefit.
May Allah make this another means of reward for the shaikh after his death.
Visiting hours from ‘Asr prayer till ‘Ishā.
al-’Allamah, al-Shaykh, Dr. Rabee’ ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee (رحمه الله) was asked:
Question: It is known that differing in secondary affairs of the religion, with certain conditions, is permissible. So what are the conditions that make differing in 'Aqîdah allowable?
QUESTION: To avoid fitnah, I read the books of the scholars who have passed away. The Salaf used to say: "Those alive are not safe from fitnah..." (vs. those who are dead)
There is a HUGE problem with this misunderstanding. Please read about it here: https://t.co/S43ABen4gz
@omarnahdy wa alaykumus Salaamu wa rahmatullaah. Pray 8 or 10 before going to sleep & then pray 8 or 10 more (w/ Witr) later in the night. Whatever you can, its all good! Push yourself & don't limit yourself, this is Ramadhaan, & there is no limit to the number of rak'ahs, by consenus.
Some people have erroneously claimed that the Quran's healing is specific to the heart only, and it does not heal physical illnesses or other general medical conditions. Yet, the Prophet (صلى الله عليه وسل) used to recite Quran over his sick family members.
@SalahIranee May Allaah have mercy upon him.
I've also heard his children own the "Sign" restaurant chain and the "Half Million" cafe, two places we love here in RIyadh.
جزاك الله خيرا for the share.
@SalafiAudioULTD Sh Ubayd rahimahullah missing him even more as we live in strange times..
How few are Ahlu Sunnah and how few are the scholars of Ahlu Sunnah
ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb said:
“Indeed, we were a people in a state of humiliation, and Allah honoured us through Islam. So whenever we seek honour through anything other than that by which Allah honoured us, Allah will humiliate us.”
- al-Mustadrak ʿalā al-Ṣaḥīḥayn, no. 207.
@troidorg This article presents 5 points explaining how a Muslim can practice humility.
It also provides numerous practical examples of shaykh ʿAli ibn Nāṣir al-Faqīhī’s exhibition of this quality.
Alḥamdulillāh, by the grace and favor of Allāh, Markaz ʿUthmān ibn ʿAffān has officially secured and signed a lease for a dedicated space in the Tampa Bay area.
This is a tremendous milestone and an important step toward establishing a markaz and daʿwah center dedicated to the worship of Allāh and the teaching of Islām according to the Qur’an, the authentic Sunnah, and the understanding of the Salaf al-Ṣāliḥ.
By the permission of Allāh, the markaz consists of two adjoining units - one designated for brothers and one for sisters - allowing the community to benefit from the facilities while maintaining appropriate accommodations for both.
Bi’idhnillāh, this markaz will serve the community through:
• Daily prayers and Jumuʿah
• Classes and seminars
• Educational programs
• Community reminders
• A place where beneficial knowledge is taught and the Sunnah is propagated
While securing the location is a huge blessing, our work has only just begun.
The facility now needs renovations, furnishings, prayer accommodations, equipment, and other essential preparations before we can open the doors to the community. We also need to cover startup and operational expenses to ensure the markaz begins on a strong foundation.
Your support is now more important than ever. Every donation directly helps prepare and establish this house of worship and learning for the Muslims of Central Florida.
Jazākumullāhu khayran to everyone who has donated, shared the fundraiser, and made duʿāʾ. May Allāh accept from you, place immense barakah in your wealth and families, and make every contribution a source of ongoing charity (ṣadaqah jāriyah) for you.
Please continue to donate, share this campaign, and encourage others to support this noble effort.
