One shot is 'one less worry'!
HPV vaccine is safe and effective. It prevents not just one but six HPV-dependent cancers.
Along with cervical cancer screening, HPV vaccination is a step towards cervical cancer elimination!
Let's join hands and prevent the preventable..
The Government of India is moving forward with the rollout of HPV vaccination, supporting the World Health Organization’s 90–70–90 global strategy to eliminate cervical cancer as a public health problem. This marks a crucial shift from intent to action.
As a first step, the programme will focus on protecting 14-year-old girls, with plans to expand into a sustained national effort for all girls aged 9–14 years, in line with WHO recommendations.
At the same time, it is important to remember that HPV does not affect girls alone,Boys can also carry and transmit the virus.
Vaccinating boys — after consultation with their doctors — can play an important role in reducing transmission and strengthening community protection.
Let us stand together for awareness, vaccination, and equal protection for all. Let us move forward towards #CervicalCancerMuktBharat.
