I am from visiting a vocational training center in the outskirts of Nairobi single handedly set up by a visionary Kenyan Woman. She equips Kenyan youth with sophisticated welding skills using virtual reality technology and sends them to Europe and soon Canada for high value jobs. Got me thinking about Ruto who wants us to celebrate him for sending our young people to the Middle East for slavery type of jobs.Between those two who really qualifies to be considered Presidential material? It’s time we stop accepting low standards in choosing leadership.
The world is getting hotter, oceans are warming, and all indicators point to a potentially significant El Niño event developing in the months ahead.
East Africa must not wait for disaster before acting. The combination of rising global temperatures and a strengthening El Niño could bring extreme weather patterns across our region ranging from prolonged heat waves and drought conditions in some areas to devastating floods in others.
Governments, humanitarian agencies, county administrations, disaster response teams, farmers, and pastoralists must begin preparations now. Roads, drainage systems, dams, water harvesting infrastructure, health facilities, and emergency response mechanisms should be put on high alert.
We cannot claim surprise when science has already sounded the alarm.
The lesson from previous El Niño events is simple: preparedness saves lives, livelihoods, and billions in economic losses.
The time to prepare is before the rains come, not after the floods arrive. @ledamalekina@StateHouseKenya@InteriorKE@Environment_Ke @KenyaMetService @NDMA_Kenya@IGADsecretariat@UNDPKenya@UNEP@UNICEFKenya@KBCChannel1@citizentvkenya@ntvkenya@KTNNewsKE@K24Tv@TV47KE@TheStarKenya@StandardKenya@NationAfrica@PeopleDailyKe@CapitalFMKenya@RadioJamboKenya@SpiceFMKE
Former president Hassan Sheikh must cease his violent actions against opposition leaders and the public. His legal term is up. We need to proceed to elections based on consensus immediately. I urge the Somali people to remain strong & security forces to protect our citizens. 1/3
@ShAbdiHersy@HassanSMohamud Somalia has undergone a decades long reconstruction process.
Hassan sheikh dictatorial rule could lead the country into an abyss of violence. Somalis are yet to recover the indemnities of decades of war.
Ebola is named after a River in Congo where there was the first infection in 1976. It’s a terrible disease that claims sometimes up to 90 % of its victims. For 50 years there has been no single infection in Kenya. But Ruto and Dualle are suddenly all over raising alarm and preparing to import Ebola to please foreigners. Sadly this Government has made history with Ebola claiming for the first time 2 lives of our people not by the disease itself but through violent killings of innocent protesters whose only crime was resisting importation of Ebola to our Country. Is Ruto someone who cares for us as a people? For a few pieces of silver our dignity is being robbed from us.
If a junior officer at City Hall kept Kshs 250 million under his mattress, how much money do think members of the executive, judiciary, parliament, governors and other government officials keep under their mattresses? My conservative estimates is Kshs 5.55 TRILLION.
For folks in NE Kenya, it's not about the Madaraka Day event. Not about the Wajir stadium. It's about the recognition that it's part of this nation; that residents are citizens with equal rights as others; that development is not a favour to us; and that official discrimination of the region by policymakers is being buried, insha Allah. It’s a pushbback against those who profile NE Kenya as 'Somalia', brand the residents 'foreigners' not deserving Kenyan identity, who see the residents as 'terrorists' and who label development in this region as a favour. This day marks a paradigm shift institutionalised by the President which repudiates the decades-old policy of marginalization by those who feel entitled/ priviledged in this nation. It symbolises our seat at the table as equals, not as part of the menu. This is what Wajir is all about. Going forward, hatubanduki insha Allah. Best wishes to all Kenyans on this great day!
@WilliamsRuto
Madaraka Day is not just a celebration of where Kenya has come from.
It is a reminder of the responsibility we carry for where Kenya is going.
Freedom was never meant to be a destination. It was meant to be an opportunity ,to build institutions that work, create opportunities that are accessible, and leave the country better than we found it.
As we celebrate today, may we remember that the future of Kenya will not be shaped by speeches, but by the daily choices of its citizens.
Happy Madaraka Day, Kenya 🇰🇪

The biggest win for today’s Madaraka day is naming Wajir stadium after Hon Ahmed Khalif. He reminds us of the second liberation. Apart from being a politician and journalist, he was a religious leader and a human rights activist. God will always honour those who serve HIM!
As an old history and government high school teacher who taught civic education and instilled a culture of nationhood. Celebrating madaraka in Wajir is a great step. The inclusion should be more substantive and translate to actual progress. The region should overcome clanism.
My mind is still in a faze. How can anyone in their right senses imagine, let alone execute a plan to bring Ebola patients to our Country instead of doing everything possible to prevent the disease from entering our boarders? As it is our healthcare system is broken down and our capacity to handle an epidemic is zero. Was the Health cooperation Framework agreement with the US in December 2025 meant to compromise our health rights so that Ruto can look good to the Americans?Really sad that instead of protecting us the Government is prioritizing Americans.
