How litigation practice compounds:

Our office is doing a very complicated execution. So complicated that each side brings 2-3 judgments on each date to buttress their points and each time a new question of law arises and so the cycle continues.

So, another case on a totally different civil law issue. Lost in all three courts below and last hope is the Supreme Court.

Fortunately, in the second case one of the Judgments cited by the other side in the execution case is squarely applicable. And the second one might succeed in Supreme Court because of that interpretation/ precedent.

Efforts put in one case pays back in other cases too and that's how compounding works.

This is probably why wise people suggest not to say no to work (especially on fees aspect) because efforts put in one less paying case can help you win a high paying case. Life will give us many opportunities but are we going to be ready to grab them or are we going to be caught sleeping when the opportunity arises?

Litigation is a marathon and not a sprint. You win if you keep on running on the field. To be on the field you need to be willing to run/ walk/ crawl.
