@AntonHand It's already deviated from the books in many ways, and one of them in particular was a huge downgrade as far as I'm concerned. It seems like it could still be good enough but I'd have to completely ignore that one big thing.
@AntonHand So now they're writing film length stories but need to pad it out to television series length.
@AntonHand I imagine it's a symptom of the fact that movie writers get almost no credit, no power after the script is written, and just aren't respected by the film industry. Some of the television writers now are likely people who want to be writing films instead but want better treatment.
