I have been wanting to get into Stephen King books for a while. Seen a handful of movies/shows but only ever read one novel. So I want to try and push myself further into his body of work.

So this will be a thread that I update with my opinions once I finish a book 🧵

@justaguy0507 The only real complaint that works for the story imo is that it is rushed. I do think the game would benefit from being longer and having more time in each suit. Also Miles new suit is stupid

Overall SM2 was a lot of fun and better than 1 in a lot of areas worse in some others

@justaguy0507 Best case scenario(imo) is that he is thinking selfishly as in this would help me out so I don’t have to spend so long storyboarding. Not caring/thinking about people who’s lives depend on storyboarding

Like he’s been swayed by money and a cool sounding pitch to make work easier

Obviously if he did abuse her that is horrifying and she could have kept it a secret but, this is a massive story built on little evidence from a witness who worked for republican campaigns & is a zionist

As someone who was a Day 1 for Platner idk how comfortable I feel fully backing him but, I do know that this article is really vague & misleading at points

but also even if everything was 💯 he would still be better than Collins who upholds and defends a pedophilic rape ring

The more and more I think on this novel the more I love it. I had such a fun time reading it and it went down so easily. It kept defying where I thought it would go and I just couldn’t really put it down. Sure some recovery stuff might go on a little long but its needed.

I knew little about THE DEAD ZONE. I expected it to be a crime focused book but, this novel had very little interest in that, it cares more about Johnny trying to live and heal before his burden emerges and everything snowballs alongside an interesting moral question

@JerbearFreeman I think itll do a little better than half but not much, I used to think around 450-500 range but, I think these trailers have been kinda garbage and the competition is really steep around its release. So more like 400 is my guess with solid reviews

THE STAND is the most impressive thing I have ever read. While I do think it drags a little in the middle I loved loved loved over a thousand pages of this thing. I will have to eventually update this thread with more thoughts eventually bc wow

Flying today so I am starting The Stand. Very excited, read Stephen King’s poem ‘The Dark Man’ last night to prepare.

Won this in an ebay bid. I think this is one of the most beautiful covers for any book and all other editions have a mid cover at best.

@justaguy0507 Yeah, I think the black parts are too far from the head and so theres too much round yellow head and I think his neck muscles give it a weird silhouette

@roryofffilm And the fact Nikki is just laying there silent bc she doesn’t do anything unless Bear asks mean thats Bear isn’t even thinking about her enjoyment in the slightest. He is truly just using her to get off, like if he actually cared he would’ve noticed shes just laying there

@roryofffilm I was kinda shocked they had the balls to show that scene. Like its really well done but its so gross/sad and for me when he really became unforgivable. That cut from him figuring out shes under the spell to her just laying there is so disturbing.
