That was certainly true after 9/11

Likewise, after the JFK and MLK assassinations, Americans came together in condemning the killers and mourning the victims

We experienced a national tragedy this week with the politically motivated assassination of Charlie Kirk

But this time the public reaction has been different

This time half the country seems to be celebrating the killer and the death of the victim at the same time

What does that tell us about how we’ve changed and what we can expect moving forward?

Could that motivate even more people to engage in political violence

Does this mean we now have to brace ourselves for more politically motivated violence?
