The encyclical frames the solution as better governance, transparency rules, universal access to digital goods, “disarming” AI via ethics/international cooperation, and subordinating tech to “integral human development.” This treats symptoms while assuming fallen humans and their proxies (corporations, states, even church hierarchies) can muster the wisdom and virtue to enforce it consistently. History is not sympathetic to this. Original sin means tech amplifies existing rebellion against God, not a neutral tool fixable by better policy. True reform begins with heart regeneration by sovereign grace.
