@dwcongdon unconscious archetypal content over time. As a millennial who grew up evangelical, I think the turn to Tr*mp still surprised me despite knowing historically how the groundwork was laid is that for so long I had been trying to hold on to a faith that privileged doctrine.
@dwcongdon Seems that for some evangelicals the turn to the cultural/political is a way to maintain the fervor of a believer when creedal doctrines no longer hold metaphysical weight. I just came across Jung’s seminar on Nietzsche’s Zarathustra where he talks about beliefs fading into
@Billieiswriting Great thread. This was me a few years ago; now I’m affirming and no longer a Christian. While I don’t want all these folks to leave their faith entirely, I do think that those who are self-aware and intellectually honest will eventually realize they can’t stay in between forever.
@holyqueerit I’d be skeptical of anything on mental health published by Tyndale, which also publishes Dobson and Steve Arterburn (Every Man’s Battle guy).
A relatively under discussed negative consequence of some CBT and Stoicism:

-And mental illness boils down to a tendency
