I still deal with perfectionism, it's not a problem that for me just went away. It became a little more manageable though when I started writing ideas I was enthusiastic about.

Whenever I'd write or do anything artistic, it had to be really good. It had to be based on a really really good idea. I didn't use the word perfect, because I wouldn't admit to myself I was pursuing perfection.

And what makes these parts of a story shine brighter is when a reader can sense the passion that was put into it. It is the passion not perfection of a story that makes it enjoyable and timeless. Marketing is important too but you get the idea.
