Plus those exposed kids/teachers can bring it home to their families and more time away from school. You are not willing to be part of a solution in this. Talk to a nurse/Er doc. Its bad

@openpdxschools @PdxMorris @ORDeptEd @alt_colt Im telling you. If you want your kids in school like I do, the ONLY way to do it is by masking. Covid will happen in schools. And without masks kids will spread it, they will have to quarantine, as well as the kids exposed around them. Then if a teacher gets sick they will too.

@nytimes Basically the honor system sucks because people who are not vaccinated and don’t believe in masks are using this as an opportunity to get away with not wearing masks. Vaccination cards are too hard to check and can easily be fake

@VeBo1991 @greenmachine039 It’s mislabeled because it’s Fox News, a horrible place for accurate information. My mom had her have a very important surgery indefinitely postponed because of this and I had a student who lost their healthy physically fit dad with no underlying medical conditions due to covid.

@vjordahl @nytimes So if a school is trying to stay open, reduce kids sick in quarantine and creating a safe environment those families unvaxxed and unmasked are only contributing to the problem. It’s counterproductive since they obviously want their kids in school. Masks are how we do it

@vjordahl @nytimes The problem is, masks are most effective when worn by both parties. The parents who send their kids to school without masks are probably the families doing the most risk taking behaviors as far as the virus goes anyway and therefore their children are more likely spreaders

@SawyerHackett Good for those cities. What the governors fail to understand is that masks are more affective when worn by both individuals. But the ones not wearing masks in school are more likely from not vaccinated and families who don’t mask anyway.... the ones who NEED to wear the mask

What is abuse is having this pandemic last longer than it should. Kids need to be in school, but anti mask/vax will only lead to kids and teachers sick and out of school

@mtgreenee They never said it couldn’t happen. But it’s like birth control... it’s 90-99% effective but people should still use it and do use it. Stop trying to kill people by spreading ignorance. Those who die ( and I know some unvaxxed personally who have) may die because of you

@openpdxschools @ORDeptEd This was a very hard year for teachers. Give them credit for having to transform everything they knew about teaching. Teachers were under a lot of stress, many also having children themselves. Most did their best
