I was so busy unpacking all the conference buzzwords that I missed my flight.

Now that I’ve got some unexpected airport time, I’d love to hear from everyone: What was your favorite buzzword, trend, insight, most overused phrase or memorable takeaway from the conference? #NACDA26

When I hear the ever-changing landscape for the 20th time of the day and it’s not even the opening session. #NACDA26

The exhibit hall is closed, the badges are off, and the swag bags are full. Let the conference’s most competitive event begin: finding the vendor-sponsored open bar. 🍻 #NACDA26

In light of today’s injunction, those comments have become significantly more entertaining. #NACDA26

“Bet on yourself.”

Savannah Bananas Head Coach Tyler Gillum challenged attendees at #NACDA26 to embrace risk, trust their instincts and remember:

“Whatever normal is, do the exact opposite.”

Team-building exercise tonight: collectively deciding whether red or black is the better strategic investment! #NACDA26

[AthDevProblems @AthDevProblems]

I had every intention of attending the next session, but then the Sorsby injunction dropped. I’ll be exercising my newly restored freedoms by hammering the TTU season win total. Any adverse consequences will be met with swift & aggressive requests for injunctive relief.

My goal is to use the phrase ‘strategic alignment’ at least three times before lunch. #NACDA26

Tomorrow’s conference attire is laid out and ready, like armor for battle, except the battle is mostly awkward networking and collecting LinkedIn connections I’ll never interact with again. #NACDA26

[AthDevProblems @AthDevProblems]

My conference strategy is built around four pillars: coffee, confidence, alcohol, and vague references to industry trends.

By day two, all four pillars are being supplied by the hotel bar. #NACDA26

[AthDevProblems @AthDevProblems]

I’ve spent more time preparing for this conference than preparing for the topics being discussed at it. Between the travel logistics, receptions, and networking plans, the actual conference content has become more of a supporting actor than the main event. #NACDA26

[AthDevProblems @AthDevProblems]

Now that my conference wardrobe is packed, my attention has shifted to rehearsing industry jargon I’ll be pretending is part of my daily vocabulary. #NACDA26

[AthDevProblems @AthDevProblems]

I’ve laid out my entire conference wardrobe. We’ve entered a phase best described as ‘unnecessary excellence.’ #NACDA26

[AthDevProblems @AthDevProblems]

The NIL era is basically the homebrewing craze all over again. Lots of people suddenly became “experts,” a lot of questionable results, and every person involved is convinced they’re excellent. #AthDevProblems

Nothing says ‘Be Mine’ like a five-year pledge.

Forget flowers — send unrestricted funds. #AthDevProblems

We’re in a committed relationship… with our mission.

My heart beats in 501(c)(3).

Funny how every industry networking event comes with a hidden agenda: the official agenda is just for show—the real work and conversations happen after hours.
