@_newtonjob Generally, MySQL or PostgreSQL is still a good start. However I would still recommend SQLite for simplicity sake when doing the basics. Once they are ready to handle an ORM, then you can switch to MySQL or PostgreSQL.
This is the approach I took for my students.
