I thank the people of Budaka for the warm welcome. We are backing the industrialization plan for Budaka to create more jobs, alongside commercial agriculture, manufacturing, and the service sector. These are the pillars that have already created millions of jobs across the country.
I gave examples of successful farmers like Joseph Ijala in Serere and Minister Fred Byamukama in Kakumiro, who have turned small farms into job centres. I encouraged the people of Budaka to join the money economy and use the government programs to create wealth.
Budaka and the Bukedi region have great potential for fish farming, coffee, fruit growing, and dairy. Let us defend these programs ; PDM, Youth Fund, Women Fund, and free education, because they are the engines of wealth creation and transformation.
Today, I had my first rally in Serere District. Our very first point in the NRM Manifesto is peace. This area once suffered under Lakwena and other rebels, but your presence today is testimony that we defeated them. Serere, like the rest of Uganda, is now enjoying the longest period of peace in our history.
On infrastructure, we have the money and will work on the Kumi–Nora–Serere–Kagwara Road (95km), including selected town and access roads to bituminous standard. I was pleased that people like Joseph Ijala listened attentively to my message on wealth creation. As I have told our people many times, while government builds roads, you cannot sleep on them, therefore use the peace and stability to create your own wealth so that development finds you.
@DrWakida Thank you very much for the excellent mobilization in Kibuku yesterday and the warm reception accorded to me …@AnitahAmong @TodwongR @NRMOnline
My heart is so full seeing how beautiful Teso looks in yellow. I thank you for standing firm with the NRM, and for believing in the work we have done together to build peace.
I am proud of you, Teso. Your loyalty, your love, your discipline - they are the reason our country stands.
Eyalama Noi Noi! May God bless you, and may He bless Uganda.
On voting day, let every household, every family member, every neighbour in Teso turn up to vote Mzee and the @NRMOnline- not just for politics but for the Uganda we want our children to inherit. We must safeguard our peace so that development continues, and so that no region is left behind.
