A message from BABCP President Saiqa Naz and CEO Tommy McIlravey about the racist violence that we have seen across the UK recently: https://t.co/2nmN4gU0g9
Really important to see this message from our CEO and President. It's so important that we are able to talk about this and support our patients, friends and colleagues during this awful time. Join the Anti-Racism SIG.
I drew this when thinking about how I want to embody social justice work in my capacity as a trainee clin psych. working therapeutically on placement is great, but I'm always holding in mind the wider context and what I can do to facilitate systems and policy change.
Watching atrocities from afar, simultaneously composing myself whilst being a mama and managing children’s emotions. Being grateful but feeling overwhelmed by the horrific unnecessary acts abroad. I’m reminded of this conversation:

My end of year President's message for our wonderful @BABCP members.
I would also appreciate employers supporting our members to be involved in their local branches and Special Interest Groups alongside attendance at events- we have work to do! 👇

@IonutGociu @LoweIanlowe1970 @Alanduncan2469@metpoliceuk There were many people from different walks of life 🙌🏽 taking part in the recent protest.
Decades ago I recall being in my history classes & thinking how did humans stand by genocidal horror? But I now see how easily speaking up for humanity is manipulated & vilified 😔
Many congratulations to The Telford & Wrekin Community Mental Health Service who won the Psychiatric Team of the Year: Outstanding Commitment to Sustainability/Green Care Award at the @rcpsych Awards - we are so proud of you - well done!
Choice of language is having a direct impact on the #mentalhealth of many entrusting their faith in politicians.
Seeing the horrific videos of the destruction, upset, hunger &terror of innocent children& adults suffering, can lead to causing secondary trauma.
