On behalf of AAFC, thank you to the Canadian Meat Council for presenting me with your 2026 Chair Award last night at your annual Meat & Greet.

Those of you who know John Colwill (c), know that over his career he has dedicated himself to agriculture and more specifically to growing the PEI and regional beef industry. That’s the reason and many more that he has been selected by ABPI to receive the Industry Builder Award.
Thank you, Minister. We sincerely appreciate the support of the federal government as well as the PEI government for supporting these important projects.
One serving of beef (75 g at 184 calories) has the same amount of protein as about 3.5 servings of almonds (104 almonds at 728 calories).
Calorie for calorie, beef is a delicious way to meet your family’s nutrition needs.

Research shows 46% of the calories in our diets comes from nutrient-poor processed foods, so it’s not surprising that many of us aren’t meeting our daily nutrient needs for iron, zinc, calcium, potassium, magnesium, thiamine, vitamins A, C, D, B6 and B12.

If you have relatives or guests visiting this holiday season you need to let them experience a little of what the Island is known for - it's delicious local food.
While the holidays are typically reserved for turkey, there's plenty of room for #PEIBeef at the table.

#FarmersTalk
Our farmers embrace the essence of the Island & deliver exceptional quality #beef. That’s why, in keeping with their natural lifestyle, #PEICertifiedBeef#cattle are raised without use of added hormone or hormone implants. Keeping animals healthy is a top priority for #farmers.
Just because the weather’s a little cooler, who needs to be in the kitchen? How about a little #localbeef on the barbie instead? Invite your #beefbuds over for a nice indoor/outdoor BBQ! Check out his recipe for Osso Bucco Style Beef Short Ribs:

Re-think the Beef Burger.
It’s not just good but good for you!
Yes - it’s true. The most nutrient dense part of the ‘fast food meal’ is the beef between the bun. And ok, the tomato and the lettuce help too.
If you think the burger is just junk food – think again.

“ The Blue Dot Reserve beef has wonderful marbling that lends to a clean, rich decadent flavour. An early guest favourite at Elisa, the flavour of the striploin and rib-eye cuts burst over your palate on the first bite.”
