Its far more important than I think you realize. This happened to toys as well. I dont fully blame Sony its simply that the only demographic they have, half of them are willing to platform hop while console games slide away from mainstream at a snails pace.
Nintendo is partially insulated because they still trend younger
People are only reading the headline.
Apocalypse is being used metaphorically to describe a relatively broad period in time where everything we own, use or passively interact with is dependent on AI while we become less aware of what it is doing in the background.
The idea stems from the harm AI can inflict when in the possession of medical history, social engineering, powerplants and infrastructure etc.
The idea that it can interact with agents of its own making in coordination simply for the sake of efficiency can be catastrophic that by the time you pull the plug, the damage to these important areas of our lives cannot be so easily undone, perhaps impossible within a period in which we can cultivate a solution for.
GBA is what SNES wished it could have been.
It's only overshadowed because SNES aped so hard what came before it.
The quality of titles overall are better on GBA.
SNES had better stand outs because there were fewer of them.
It was also set in a time where your average snes owner had a dozen carts.
By the time GBA was popular, the amount of carts you owned was much higher on average
Im sorry that you don't understand how market segments predict the future. Sony isn't sinking overnight. They are losing the bid for long term customers on a long scale.
You got a target demo that isn't replenishing. GTAVI can be the biggest thing ever. And in 5-10 years Sony has no market when you just are too busy with real life.
It's kinda like neither of our opinions matter much when that happens
Gaming used to represent art and divergence of thought. Its commodities and overly corporate.
It doesn't matter that it all makes sense because its expensive and there needs to be a return on investment.
None of these things were in earshot of gamers in the 90s amd early 2000s.
None of that should matter. Only the experiences. But because the experiences don't match, we need to justify our purchases endlessly.
Gaming practically demands all of your attention to keep up. And keeping up is exhausting
@HlNOMARUSUMO The dick ride or dies of Sony have been out en masse. They know all they have to do is do mock pieces in the hopes of gaining validation through writing off their own rights. Kinda based
this is f**king insane.

Dynamic pricing @PlayStation ? Lack of physical didnt change my spending. I am out. Exclusives only. You are dust for any other option out in the wild.
I think we all know that AI art can fake real art convincingly sometimes. And if you do real art, you can't help but feel betrayed by something that isn't even alive, that copied every piece of art it could find and pretend its way into a reasonable facsimile of a genuine product.
It's also frustrating that a large portion of the public is okay with take millions of hours of experience, collectively of people who are notoriously underpaid and under represented, and made an easy access tool that once again undervalued and ignored the art it all comes from.
And you can't exactly blame people for using it. They can't produce it themselves. But then you got people looking for validation because they spent an afternoon talking to a thing to make a thing. And some of them try to pass it off as their own.
