Something that I've learned through the years that I'm most appreciative of is that it is best to unapologetically and deeply love the things that make you happy, regardless of what anyone else thinks about it. If you're happy and nobody's getting hurt, no other opinions matter.
I wonder if I can go viral over Rivals 2 again by talking about how they're completely astroturfing their EVO sign up numbers. That thread from a couple years ago was fun. (I was right, btw.)
Bro this site's algorithm is dogshit. Holy fuck. I rage click on ONE FF7 shipper post because I can't believe the bullshit that I'm reading and now this thing is just flooding me with these fucking moronic people. Get this shit the fuck off my timeline.
@discord How, in the year of our Lord 2026, does Discord not have message scheduling yet? Please, for the love of all that's good in this world, let me schedule messages to send in the future.
Like if you're trying to compare this game on a scale with shit like Crimson Desert, yeah. It's not a "compelling gameplay experience" in the same way.
But nobody with a functioning brain would do that shit.
The Mixtape discourse is missing the nuance that game genres exist independently of one another?
This is a bunch of "gaming purist" nerds screeching about the fact that what is essentially a visual novel doesn't have "more compelling gameplay" and "how can it possibly be a 10?"
@BDipitous@TerosOfCrete Tangentially related, but I've been rewatching Superman & Lois recently and that show is probably my favorite modern depiction of Superman that exists today.
John Henry Irons is one of the main recurring characters throughout the series.
@ImazuFGC The covid years had a lot of overhiring in tech because for some reason every company believed the surge of traffic while everyone was stuck at home with nothing to do was permanent. That overhiring + AI has led to a huge overcorrection in the other direction with mass layoffs.
Hantavirus. Great.
On the plus side, if we do COVID 2.0 all the companies might overhire so we can actually get jobs again for like 2-ish more solid years.
After two decades of being a very serious person on the internets, I think I'm about to enter my shitposting era. There's so many thoughts I don't share because they don't fit my self-identified image of who I am and the current internet landscape is too exhausting for that shit.
Wait, am I reading this right? Steve players at Supernova forfeit their stage ban phase?
That's one hell of a creative way to mitigate the fact that Nintendo won't allow the character itself to be banned.
Ask me how many times I've cleaned up after AI in the last 9 months. π
I'm really trying to figure out how to fit Junior Devs into our workflow. Right now it introduces too much risk. We're currently establishing better guard rails for AI-enabled work. Maybe after that we can.
I am actually curious.
If junior devs are using Claude to write code at a senior level...
And senior devs are using Claude to write code at a senior level...
What exactly is the difference between the two roles right now, other than a $100k gap in salary?
@noahkagan Twilio has fallen off so hard in recent years. Then they acquired SendGrid and made it terrible too. Their service was so expensive for how unstable it was that we recently migrated off to a different provider.
Honestly not surprised you're having trouble. Hope it's sorted soon.
@vrballknowervr You literally made my point for me by calling it "suicide" - it's not suicide to choose the selfless option that would save everyone but risk yourself.
Starting with knowing it is impossible that every individual will choose red, the sum of the whole is greater than the self.
People keep trying to distill red button vs blue button into "0% chance to die if red so why would you push anything else, everybody should push red" while ignoring the fact that in any real-world non-made up scenario that has a 100% chance of killing someone.
@vrballknowervr "Red condemns no one to death" - You definitely failed reading comprehension. That's a key assertion that every non-red dies if red wins and then you literally say that it's a certainty that some will pick blue. That's knowingly killing other people to save yourself.
