Em O Sobrinho do Mago, Aslan é o Criador: ele canta Nárnia à existência, dá vida às criaturas, estabelece a ordem daquele mundo e confronta a entrada do mal. Em O Leão, a Feiticeira e o Guarda-Roupa, ele é o inocente que se entrega voluntariamente pelo culpado, morre, ressuscita e derrota a morte e a tirania da Feiticeira. Em O Cavalo e Seu Menino, ele acompanha Shasta sem ser reconhecido, intervém na história, corrige seus caminhos e depois revela que estava presente em tudo aquilo, e ainda deixa claro que a verdadeira razão de ter agido não era a que Shasta imaginava. Em Príncipe Caspian, ele é o Rei legítimo que restaura aquilo que foi corrompido, desperta as árvores, enfrenta a tirania e chama Caspian à responsabilidade. Em A Viagem do Peregrino da Alvorada, ele aparece como guia, juiz e aquele que transforma Eustáquio; é também no fim do mundo conhecido que os personagens encontram o País de Aslan, e a própria imagem daquele lugar aponta para a realidade celestial. Em A Cadeira de Prata, Aslan é aquele que envia Jill em uma missão, estabelece os sinais que ela precisa seguir, confronta sua desobediência, recebe os personagens após a morte e deixa claro que existe uma realidade maior por trás daquilo que eles conseguem enxergar. E em A Última Batalha, quando Nárnia chega ao fim, é Aslan quem julga, separa verdade e mentira, encerra aquele mundo e conduz os seus para a verdadeira Nárnia, uma realidade maior, eterna, da qual a Nárnia que eles conheciam era apenas uma sombra. Isso não é uma coincidência que alguém descobriu no Twitter. É a ESPINHA DORSAL da série. O próprio material dedicado a Lewis reconhece que os sete livros trabalham temas cristãos de maneiras diferentes e que Aslan permanece no centro moral de todos eles. E tem uma coisa que eu acho particularmente engraçada nessa tentativa evidente de “descristianizar” Nárnia: Lewis nem sequer escondeu o que estava fazendo. Ele explicou que imaginou o que aconteceria se existisse um mundo como Nárnia, se esse mundo tivesse caído no erro como o nosso e se Cristo entrasse nele para salvá-lo. A diferença seria que, em um mundo de animais falantes, Cristo assumiria a forma de um animal, e, em Nárnia, esse animal seria o Leão. Então não, Nárnia não é uma ‘alegoria bíblica barata’ em que cada personagem corresponde mecanicamente a alguém da Bíblia. É justamente mais interessante que isso. Lewis chamou a ideia de uma espécie de “suposição”: imaginar como seria a obra de Cristo em outro mundo. Por isso Aslan não aparece simplesmente repetindo a história dos Evangelhos em todos os livros. Ele cria, sustenta, chama, corrige, salva, transforma, julga, vence o mal e conduz seus personagens para além daquilo que eles conhecem. Ele está em toda a história PORQUE CRISTO É O CENTRO DA HISTÓRIA QUE LEWIS ESTÁ CONTANDO. Dá para não gostar disso. Dá para não ser cristão. Dá para discordar de Lewis. Dá até para ler Nárnia apenas como fantasia e ignorar completamente sua dimensão religiosa. O que não dá é olhar para sete livros nos quais Aslan está presente como Criador, Rei, Salvador, Guia e Juiz e depois declarar, com a maior cara de pau do mundo, que “Nárnia não tem nada a ver com Cristianismo”. CARAMBOLAS DE PARAFUSETAS, o leão está literalmente em tudo. O Cristianismo não foi colocado em Nárnia. Nárnia foi construída a partir de uma imaginação profundamente cristã. E tentar arrancar isso da obra é querer separar a árvore da raiz e depois ficar surpreso porque ela não faz mais sentido. ANÁTEMAS! MIL VEZES!
