The unsealing of the Jack Smith evidence against Trump, is the tipping point, where no honest and competent person, can justify Trump, without admitting to not supporting the rule of law.

This isn’t about “did he incite a mob” or “did he try and get pence to decertify”

This is, he knowingly, intentionally, and in a pre-planned manner, attempted to forge federal documents (which he knew to be false, and knew to be a crime) and to pass them to his own VP unknowingly to over turn a free and fair election.

The bots will say they don’t care.

The Russian trolls will point to how bad Harris is.

The MAGA fan boys will scream fake news.

But, the moderate & fiscal republicans who haven’t publicly endorsed Harris, are silent on it. Why?

Because they know there is no justification.

They know the only way to justify what Trump did, is to admit you are an authoritarian bootlicker, who values your own ideas, more than democracy itself.

To the Republicans of law and order, who never thought they’d find themselves here, I’ll say this:

-Even though I think you should vote for Harris, you don’t have to. But you also don’t have to vote for a man who tried to replace our democracy with his own will. You can just stay home.

But, do not tell me he is a good man, or has redeeming qualities, or is the lesser of two evils.

That ship has sailed.

He failed the very core tenants of the office.

well, you see the intervenors filed an appeal after their motion was denied and asked for a quick decision before the 18th. 5th Cir said "not so fast".

1. 5th Cir "expedited" the appeal all right but will not hear the orals until October 10th.

Didn’t know much about Walz other than he’s a swing state Dem.

And he doesn’t seem the strongest political contender so I was surprised they picked him.

But after seeing a few videos of him, I think I get it.

Walz seems like a fun midwestern dad, or that teacher at school that people could go to their problems with.

But what stands out with Harris is her slightly less serious attitude that was tried as an attack calling her “the fun aunt” has been really disarming to the current MAGA attack strategies.

The whole vibe of “don’t take them seriously and call out their weirdness” has really taken a lot of momentum out of vitriol.

And that’s something Walz seems to have in even more spades than Harris (plus he seems more genuine)

He’s a veteran, a teacher and a popular swing state governor, but he’s also a goofy dad.

He’s got vlogs calling out Ford for parts that broke that he had to fix in his truck. His governor promo videos included him laughing and screaming on rides at the state fair, and his campaigns are filled with moments like kids hugging him for the new school breakfast program.

Someone like Buttigieg has a polished political charisma that’s obvious.

Walz has an undertone of midwestern dad charm that I think will do surprisingly well - especially when contrast agains Trump and Vance.

So I was wary, I think there would have been merit in other choices.

But I think doubling down on the messaging of people who are relatable, fun loving, even likeable, is a powerful message right now!

This election is probably less about policy and more about personality than ever before.
