@CiceroMD@Video_Forensics If you compare the figures in your table with the various universities' annual reports, you'll see the figures refer to the proportion of revenue each university receives from their respective governments as grant income. It's not USAID funding.
@TheShadow_info@DOGE@elonmusk@POTUS The figures are from the University of Auckland's annual report 2023. If you convert the US$297m (wrongly claimed to be USAID funding) into NZ$ using the average 2023 exchange rate of 1.63, you get NZ$484m, which is the figure cited in the annual report for NZ Government grants.
@SumnerRog@CiceroMD The story is wrong. The figure cited (US$297m) is actually the contribution from NZ government grants (US$297m = NZ$484m as reported in our 2023 annual report). In other words, it is NZ taxpayer contribution, and nothing to do with USAID or US taxpayers.
@HopeRising19 The claim that the University of Auckland received nearly US$300m of USAID funding is patently incorrect. The figure cited is the contribution from NZ government grants (i.e. NZ$484m). In other words, it is NZ taxpayer contribution, and nothing to do with USAID or US taxpayers.
