@BradyH_216 Best record in the A.L. and added a bat that has been .280+ since May and an arm that just came off a 3.87 ERA season before hip surgery. Assuming no setback on Cobb, how could one not like it? Maybe fans who don't trust what has happened through today?
@JEH9809 @HugeEgoSorry1 @ericwhiteback @luka7doncic @PaniniAmerica 4 years. Panini has NBA through 2025 and NFL through 2026. They will certainly sell at some point, but there isn't a reason to rush at the moment.
@JakeTsCards @ericwhiteback Which is why its flawed. If the math shows it is highly improbable that any of us would be born on the specific date and time we were (even though we know it happened) then you can use that same math to prove that almost anything was unlikely in hindsight https://t.co/vlCFhDY0s2
@bBuck No, it makes the finals more interesting. Prior to handicapping, only 3-4 players could win. Now all 30 have a chance. If we went back to the old format there would be exactly 2 players who qualified this year. 2. Think about that.
@tagrant13 This is only the 4th year of this format. Prior to, only the top 5 had a chance to win anyway. At least handicapping it gives all 30 players a shot. Not sure what else you expect.
@CrackinWax Yeah this had no chance at 8/10. Even without Covid. This is the one product that always gets an early August release date but never comes out in August. Like 5-6 years in a row now.
@jlkocher2 There's 47 million reasons to wait. If he walks, let's go shopping. Maybe they like LeVert better and want to re-up on him instead? Maybe a team like LAC decides to move on from George. LAC is 50 million OVER the cap for 2023-24. GS will also have cap issues (Wiggins/Klay).
For all of the part-time NBA fans complaining about the Collin Sexton situation...this is a salary cap issue. Nothing more. Only one team could afford to offer him a big deal and that team is rebuilding and unloading. Don't take it so personal. Next summer you'll see.
@jlkocher2 Cap space and luxury tax is the bigger issue though. Cavs are not the first cap-strapped team in history to ask a rookie to play out his 5th year This isn't unprecedented. If he is a core piece, he'll get his payday when the cap is relieved next summer.
@jlkocher2 My guess is they want to avoid the luxury tax knowing they will have a ton of cap relief next summer. Offering a small contract above the QO is a gesture of good will until they have the cap space to go big, and gives Sexton a year after his injury to see how he does.
@qutino123 No, my replies went over your head but that's fine. For the record, I love Sexton and think he's a quality piece for any team but the fact that 30 teams are punting on his ask price says a lot about how the NBA as a whole views him. You'll prove me wrong if one steps up w big $$$
@qutino123 So "monster" top 3 draft pick stats aren't superstars? I'm confused by your analysis. Don't compare a guy's stats to a top 3 draft pick, call him a monster, and then refute that you were ever talking about a super star to begin with. Top 3 "monsters" get max deals.
@hiramboyd Darius Garland is a FAR better player. He's a superstar in the making. Every expert, analyst, coach, former coach, etc. have all consistently said for the last 3 years that Garland has the highest ceiling. They can't all be wrong.
@jlkocher2 And this doesn't change next summer either. Say he takes QO and goes into next summer as a UFA. The best offer will win. Right? What if the best offer next summer is 12, or even 15? Should he retire if nobody pays him Brunson money? As a UFA you either take the best, or leave.
@jlkocher2 Huh? How do you think "market rates" are determined in economics? The 30 teams make up the market. If 29 of the teams are punting on that price tag then guess what? There is no market. The Cavs shouldn't have to pay a single penny above the next best offer.
@hiramboyd@Agatong439 YES THEY CAN. The Cavs can clear 50 million off the books next summer. That means re-signing Sexton or going after an elite shooting guard. Sexton is not elite, by the way, but Cavs certainly have options next summer. If he "proves it" this year, he'll get his.
@hiramboyd@1Avory1@JohnHal57630069@Taurus510W Don't you understand how the salary cap and luxury tax works? Cavs couldn't pay him 22-25mil even if they wanted to. Gotta get Love's contract off the books. This isn't a video game where you do whatever you want.
