@TheFriendMag I'll be hated for saying this by the true fans, but I prefer the Peter Jackson LOTR films to Tolkien's books. They cut out so much of the seemingly endless history and battles. The films are so good too (extended DVD versions obviously)
@TheFriendMag Too hard! I think readers perceive characters in different ways. Even I have been surprised by the way some of my characters are perceived - not in the way I imagined them to be.
@TheFriendMag There are so many good period dramas that no-one has touched for years. I'd happily watch one of those, providing it is historically accurate.
@TheFriendMag I've had my paid career. For me, writing's about reaching people with my stories and making them smile. I reach more people with a story in @TheFriendMag than I ever would if I tried to market a book myself. Then, one word of praise about a story is worth more than money.
@TheFriendMag I wrote one about the heartbreaking decision to place my mum into a residential home when her dementia became too severe for me to cope with. I focused on the lighter side of it all, which is what my mum would have wished. Without her, I would not be writing now.
@nerinelily1@TheFriendMag Good luck. We're just beginning Week 9 with our adolescent rescue Border terrier who suffers from separation anxiety particularly at nightπ±
@TheFriendMag I don't. The only time I might dip into one is for research but if I'm reading for pleasure I would never choose a biography. However, I would watch a documentary about anyone.
@TheFriendMag If it's for @TheFriendMag I don't really think about it much, because it's usually changed. Other books have their titles changed over and over until I'm happy. I once spent three weeks working on a title for a children's musical.
