The deal with Qifrey is not exactly the same as this, but learning the gradual decay of his own remaining eye is something that drives him to work as hard as he can in the present really struck a cord with me.
This manga is really something special, I'm so glad it exists.

I was not expecting to be hit so hard by Qifrey in this volume. I live knowing that at any moment my right eye may fail me and become beyond saving, and while I've made peace with that, I greatly fear also losing my left eye.
