Hibs were the first club from the British Isles to enter the European Cup, taking part in its inaugural year.
They did so in style, trouncing Rot-Weiss Essen 4β0 on their own patch in the first fixture.
This was the golden era of Hibernian.

@MInglis1875@GrahamSpiers And i would argue that one of the main reasons that Hearts and Hibs in particular, but others too (Aberdeen), have so much unfulfilled potential, is due to the sterile and uncompetitive nature of Scottish fitba at the moment
@MInglis1875@GrahamSpiers Why? I love the history, i love the passion that fans of clubs show, in a system so rigged against them they know, from the outset, they cannot win it. There's lots to love about football more widely, the Scottish set-up and media just make it very difficult for non OF fans
