1 year update since launching the SFA: Despite a large player pool and attracting a high quality volunteer base as well as fans, there continues to be a lack of playing opportunities nearby in Non-FIFA. We are monitoring future developments but also officially leaving X.

The 2025 Island Games had their Women's and Men's Football draw yesterday (12 teams each).

Åland 🇦🇽 & Greenland 🇬🇱 miss out on both competitions and may not feature in the games until the 2027 Games in the Faroe Islands!

The games will be held July 12-18 2025.

Hi fans! Team Appalachia now has coaches and scouts at the ready, and already made great connections with some club teams in the region who are willing to help us prepare for future competitions. For now we still await that first opportunity to play against another Non-FIFA team.

@GutxiengoEAG As far as incorporating, we are in the process of forming our nonprofit. More info about player criteria is on the "Contact Us" portion of the website.

@GutxiengoEAG We have applied to play in that cup, if not next year then hopefully the following one and a preparatory friendly match or a few leading up to it. We are looking into challenging teams like Appalachian FC and Hawaii to fulfill these friendlies.

@GutxiengoEAG Hi, sorry just seeing this now. Our federation is simply a bioregional team to represent the Appalachian mountains and foothills as an alternative for people who don't want to cheer on a national team whose borders are defined by politics and a government with a military.
