@MTrammell89 He's been a huge part of this team and I'll remember him fondly, but at this point he's more likely to start a fight or take a bad penalty than he is to actually contribute regularly. And part of it is that the coaching staff still uses him in a 3rd line/2nd PP role
Dallas has 11 shots on goal. Just baffling, and inexcusable, how bad they've been at 5v5 this series. Minnesota's a really good team, but there's no way it should be this one-sided.
Horrendous penalty by Rantanen. Was it a partial dive? Yeah. But he put himself in that position yet again being overly aggressive in the offensive zone at a time when you can not risk a penalty when you have a nearly 0% chance of creating anything positive.
@sighsamuel With VAN retaining 50% into next year, fine but I do not see it as drastically impactful. Meh. Would have preferred other Dmen but better than not making a move.
@beepeearr Helps. Still they are praying for a large turnaround with a better team (which there will be some) but he plays like a big Dman in his late 30s: Turnovers, minimal puck abilities, and unless he's clearing bodies out of the crease you want any other Dman out on the ice.
He's a better 3rd pairing Dman than a couple options on the roster. But not a big fan at a 2nd rounder when he has another year at 3M per, and he is very turnover prone. Solid move by VAN, decent move by the Stars but I don't love it (especially if THIS is their only move).
