@rickjudd21 I'd agree with you if this was the front page of the entire paper/news section. But the top sports story of the day in Seattle and the rest of the country is what USMNT did, not what Belgium/Senegal did.
The United States returning to Seattle for a Group of 16 match is now a simple task: win in the Round of 32.
Actually, that’s not so simple when you think about what teams are currently in 3rd place and could play the U.S. in that round.
Group F has easily been the most competitive. Sweden with a dominant 5-1 win over Tunisia but still have to face both Netherlands and Japan who played to a really tough 2-2 draw with lots of creativity on both sides.
“The city is a pile of garbage” 👎
“Just wait until a homeless vagrant stabs you” 💉🗑️
“Seattle is a shithole” 🚮
Either this is some extreme propaganda or a sick person running an agenda. Seattle has been nothing but ungodly beautiful. A rewarding trip for an outsider 🙏
For Friday:
#USMNT can clinch first place in Group D with a win over Australia + a Turkey loss or draw with Paraguay
Australia can clinch first place with a win over USA + a Paraguay loss or draw with Turkey
This is because head-to-head results are the first tiebreaker.
That stretch from June 14-17 is going to be a blast.
Netherlands vs. Japan
Ivory Coast vs. Ecuador
Belgium vs. Egypt
France vs. Senegal
England vs. Croatia
@AaronLevine_ I could see them beating any of those four countries in that Round of 16 match too, including Belgium. They'd likely have Spain waiting for them in the quarterfinal so that's probably where the dream run would end.
