@ZubyMusic That’s just what bigots said about giving every minority in history more rights. Those “hard lines” in the past were abolitionism, civil rights, women’s suffrage, and gay marriage. This is just recycled bigotry.
@ZubyMusic I’ve seen conservatives say this & its such a weird admission of bigotry. Just basically admitting that your side is full of people just waiting for an excuse to oppress you. And that excuse is human rights for trans people. Don’t support trans rights or well take yours away too!
@Philip_Goff Reminds me of a survey which found that the majority of ethicists believe eating meat is immoral but they still eat meat at the same rate as everyone else. Ethicists just articulate morality… but don’t necessarily perform it.
Some theories posit a deep connection between (a) generic language and (b) stereotyping and prejudice
A few years ago, I thought these theories were completely correct, but a wave of experimental results have been calling almost every aspect of them into question
@mainawamaina707 Satoshi Kon, Mikio Naruse, Ousmane Sembene, and maybe Farhadi? And you could include Koreeda with Mabarosi, but that’s more humanist than feminist.
