The Sailors’ Prayer 🌺
Sailors often call upon Our Lady of Mount Carmel as “Star of the Sea” (Stella Maris) for protection during dangerous voyages. The most common and famous prayer recited by mariners and those seeking safe travels is known as the “never known to fail” prayer.
This powerful prayer, known as the “never known to fail” prayer, is a traditional devotion often recited for three consecutive days to invoke protection, calm storms, and ensure safe travels. The prayer invokes Our Lady as the “Flower of Mount Carmel,” the “Star of the Sea,” and “Immaculate Virgin” to assist in times of need.
Prayer:
O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel,
fruitful Vine, Splendor of Heaven,
Blessed Mother of the Son of God,
Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this my necessity. O Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein that you are my Mother. O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and Earth,
I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart to succor me in this necessity.
(Mention your request here)
There are none that can withstand your power.
O show me herein that you are my Mother.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee. (3 times) Holy Mary, I place this cause in your hands. (3 times) Amen.
Our Father,
Hail Mary,
and Glory Be.
Let us die, then, and enter into the darkness, silencing our anxieties, our passions and all the fantasies of our imagination. Let us pass over with the crucified Christ from this world to the Father so that, when the Father has shown himself to us, we can say with Philip: It is enough. We may hear with Paul: My grace is sufficient for you; and we can rejoice with David, saying: My flesh and my heart fail me, but God is the strength of my heart and my heritage for ever. Blessed be the Lord for ever, and let all the people say: Amen. Amen!
St. Bonaventure
Most people saw a polluted pond. Savendra saw a responsibility.
At just 20, Savendra and his friends stepped into a garbage-filled pond with no equipment, no funding, and no guarantees—only determination.
Facing broken glass, poisonous insects, and even crocodiles, they removed over 800 kg of waste from their village's 22-acre pond.
Though fresh garbage still appears every day, they refuse to give up.
Because real change isn't always loud—it begins with someone who cares enough to take the first step.
