VODACOM AND MAKATE REACH A DEAL

Vodacom has finally reached a confidential settlement with Kenneth Makate, ending their two-decade-long legal battle over the “Please Call Me” invention.

The telecom giant confirmed that both parties have agreed to withdraw all court actions, marking the end of one of South Africa’s most publicised corporate disputes.

While the settlement amount remains undisclosed, Vodacom said it will be reflected in its interim results for the period ending September 2025.

Some decisions though 😂! This 5-bedroom maisonette was overshadowed when a wealthy neighbor built a 7-storey rental flat just a metre from the boundary. Tenants on the upper floors constantly dumped trash, dirty water, and even diapers onto the maisonette’s roof. Fed up, the owner retaliated by constructing a towering perimeter wall that blocked sunlight from the entire seven-floor flat. 😂😂
