@GuyJackson777 I think the issue is that when modern Christians teach and understand something differently from early Christians, that causes people to take a step back on their biblical interpretation.
@jrstevens@iamAtheistGirl I'd still say that what God (the Christian God) is is something different than what the gods/Spirits are. God alone is. Anyway, nice discussing this with you.
@jrstevens@iamAtheistGirl I'd say those that argue for total nonexistence of other Spirits are doing so largely because it's more offensive to say that they worshipped demons . . . considering how the term demon has evolved.
@jrstevens@iamAtheistGirl So non-Christian gods were called the word that evolved into the word demon, which can also be translated as Spirit, though the word demon got associated exclusively with "unclean spirit". Christianity still divides good and bad Spirits with the terms angels and demons.
@LumenX_ I was always taught to capitalize G when referring to the Christian God and to use a lower case g when talking about "a god" or other gods. I see tons of people capitalize "Gods." But capitalizing the G is like capitalizing a proper name
