"Central banks have worked out, although they try to keep it a secret, that the natural state of the economy is to generate deflation. This is better known as productivity growth. As companies become more efficient and workers more productive they produce the same amount of goods for less effort (or more goods for the same effort). In other words, the natural tendency of the economy is for the production cost of goods to fall.

That should be good news for everyone and result in a falling tendency in consumer prices which, when combined with stable wages, should result in an increase in real wages and worker purchasing power (it also leads to an increase in overall demand goods and services). So why try to counteract this beneficial, natural tendency? Simple: it makes it more difficult to pay back debt. More accurately, it makes it more difficult for governments to pay back their debt (individuals and companies find it easier to pay back debt when their real incomes are rising). Our historic military recruitment shortfall of 41,000 last year leaves the U.S. with our smallest active-duty military since before WW2. Many military families increasingly don’t want their children to serve. A recent Gallup poll found that less than half of Americans would be willing to fight for their country in a time of need, while 77% of young people are too obese, too medicated, too drugged, or too mentally ill to qualify for military service even if they *want* to sign up.

The greatest threat to our nation isn’t someone else, it’s right here at home: our crisis of national purpose. Our destructive border policies, third-world conditions in cities, rising crime, and economic decline are really just symptoms of a deeper malaise.

This is becoming obvious to our rivals: according to a new report from the Heritage Foundation, Chinese scholars believe America has destroyed its “common political culture” and torn up its “civilizational roots.” They’re expecting us to self-implode.

Ordinary Americans feel lost & disempowered when we can’t even hold our own leaders accountable: the people we elect to run the government aren’t even the ones who actually run the government, and those who do have lost any sense of duty to our own citizens, which in turn erodes the civic duty our citizens feel back towards our nation - triggering a downward spiral of national identity.

Shutting down the administrative state & reviving our national identity are by far the two most important objectives to save our country. We can still do it. But we’re running out of time.

They define democracy as rule by Democrats.

So when they jail the opposition, censor your speech, and build one-party blue states…that’s all in defense of democracy.

But when someone outside the Party wins an election…well, *that* is an attack on democracy.

Go try it yourself. Ask a partisan blue whether they’d ever vote for a Republican. Of course they wouldn’t, because one-party Democrat rule is the essence of democracy!

This also applies abroad. When Bukele or Milei or Orban wins an election, that is not democracy. But when Justin Trudeau silences truckers by freezing their assets, that is the essence of democracy.

It’s verbal inversion, the intentional corruption of words to mean their opposite. Watch violent BLM/Hamas riots become protected speech, while your mere speech becomes violence.

And watch as they apply the same systematic corruption of words to science, journalism, and information itself.

Trust the science! By that they mean Fauci and the institutions. It’s all about prestigious citation over independent replication. Masks don’t work, and then they do. Because science isn’t something *you* can do, it’s only something blues can do.

And support journalism! By this they mean blue journalism. They mean journalism as nepotism, as the hereditary fiefdom of the Ochs-Sulzbergers. They sure don’t mean citizen journalism — again, it’s not what *you* say but what blues say.

Oh, and combat disinformation! By this too they mean non-Democrat information. A true story that disadvantages Democrats like the Hunter Biden laptop is censored before the election, while a false story like the Steele Dossier gets wide circulation. Once more, *you* think information is what’s true, but they think information is what helps blues.

Ultimately we’ll need to reclaim these words via citizen journalism, decentralized science, verifiable information, and internet democracy.

But step one is calling out their verbal inversion. As @micsolana points out, democracy doesn’t mean prosecution of the opposition. And it sure doesn’t mean one-party Democrat rule.

It means an election that even blues can lose.

The Cover-Up Is Worse Than the Crime

The old Washington adage that the cover-up is worse than the crime has never been more true than in the Hunter Biden case. The charges on which he was convicted today have rightly been described as rinky-dink and divert from a much bigger scandal involving foreign influence payments to Hunter and other members of the Biden Family. This is the story that intelligence officials worked successfully with the Biden campaign to conceal from the American public prior to the 2020 election.

The FBI seized Hunter Biden’s laptop from the repair shop in December 2019, almost a year before the 2020 election. What was the Bureau’s response? Did it begin an investigation into Hunter’s shady foreign dealings and potential FARA violations? As the Twitter Files exposed, the FBI began telling "Trust & Safety" executives from social networking companies to be on the lookout for a Russian "hack-and-leak" operation involving Hunter Biden, priming these executives to censor the story. The FBI would have verified the authenticity of the laptop soon after seizing it, so its warnings to social media companies were deceptive.

When the NY Post story broke, 51 former intelligence officials, including 5 former directors of the CIA, wrote their infamous letter claiming the laptop was Russian disinformation. We now know from the sworn testimony of former CIA acting director Mike Morell that the letter was coordinated by then Biden campaign operative, now Secretary of State Antony Blinken. Note that the intelligence community (IC) adopted the same “Russian disinfo” cover story that the FBI had incepted with social networks. Indeed the letter became the “expert” confirmation the social networks needed to suppress the story.

What’s the take-away? The Biden campaign knew it had a problem a year before the election. A phony narrative was invented that the Russians were behind the story. The FBI communicated this narrative to social networks; dozens of intelligence officials backed it with the weight of their credentials; Biden himself invoked it as a defense in a presidential debate with Trump; and MSM reporters like Leslie Stahl dutifully repeated it. Finally social media companies suppressed the true story, depriving the American people of information they were entitled to know before they voted. This was election interference.

As journalist @mtaibbi explained, “By any marker, this is an enormous news story. If we go by the usual measuring stick of American scandal, the Watergate story, this potentially meets or exceeds that, on almost every level. Does it reach into the current White House? Check. Was it a craven attempt to subvert the electoral process? Check again. Did a presidential candidate engineer a massive public deception? Yes, resoundingly. Did it involve intelligence agencies? Yes, and these weren’t amateurs like Nixon’s plumbers. These were 50 of the most powerful people in the intelligence world... conspiring to meddle in domestic politics on a grand scale.”

Taken together with the IC’s participation in the Russiagate hoax during the Trump presidency, the security state has shown a brazen willingness to interfere in electoral politics on behalf of their preferred candidate. This is not democracy; it is the subversion of it. There’s only one way to send the message that this is unacceptable: vote for the candidate they hate on November 5.
