Tesla: “Cybercab has two seats and is not typically equipped with a steering wheel or acceleration and brake pedals. Cybercab test vehicles can occasionally include a steering wheel for manual operation. Tesla vehicles operate differently from many other vehicles. Tesla recommends that first responders who haven't operated a Tesla vehicle should familiarize themselves with the controls before attempting to drive the vehicle.”
The NHTSA has just officially announced that they are getting rid of the manual brake pedal mandate for vehicles designed to be driven exclusively by automated driving systems.
"The move builds on the agency’s effort to safely unleash American innovation and rethink the types of equipment – like windshield wipers or a rearview mirror – vehicles don’t need if a human being will never drive the car." - NHTSA Administrator Jonathan Morrison.
Changes:
• Removes requirements for hand- or foot-operated brake controls for vehicles designed never to be operated by a human. Existing rules still apply to AVs that retain manual controls.
• All subject vehicles must still meet the same stopping distance performance criteria via alternative testing procedures.
• While this update ensures AVs can physically stop when commanded, NHTSA is separately developing safety performance requirements for AVs in real-world driving scenarios.

Tesla, Sunrun and Renew Home have announced a partnership to create the largest distributed power plant in the U.S. by providing more than 16 GW of flexible power capacity to utilities and hyperscale data centers.
The companies plan to aggregate energy from hundreds of thousands of residential battery systems, EVs, and more than 8 million smart thermostats to help meet surging electricity demand driven by AI and data center growth:
"Deployable in months, not years, this capacity-as-a-solution framework creates headroom on the existing grid by freeing up transmission capacity, easing congestion on distribution infrastructure, and extending the duration and depth of available capacity, all while helping American households lower energy bills, earn rewards, and power through outages."
Just met my neighbor's son and we got to talking about Pokémon and he mentioned he had a binder full of them from when he was a kid.
I told him he might have a decent amount of money depending on what cards he has and their condition. An absolute time capsule with some heat! 🔥
The best part is he's been wanting to start his own business recently and this will go a long way to helping him with the initial capital investment. So cool!
