Sunil Shetty revealed that his 15‑month‑old granddaughter has a picture of Narendra Modi in a book next to Sai Baba. She performs Modi’s pooja, even offering laddus to his photo from a Ganesh Ji mandir because he is seen as divine. This shows just how far Bollywood has fallen
With this logic, Umar is a distraction and a movement against the corporatisation and degradation of higher education must not mention a political prisoner who emerged from a university campus and student movements, and whose speeches, writings and organising were inseparable from the intellectual life of the university. His imprisonment is one of the clearest warnings issued to an entire generation of students.
Wrote this for @TheQuint. On universities, political prisoners, and why Umar Khalid is not separate from the question of education.

The AIIMS Delhi exodus: Why top faculty & HODs are leaving India’s most prestigious medical institution.
Cardiac surgeries were cancelled five to six days every month, and patients, including small children, were moved to waiting lists extending up to 15 months, said Dr Hote, who joined AIIMS as a student in 1999.
“About five percent of patients on the waiting list died before their surgery date… including small children. It was not just frustrating. It was causing me guilt,” Dr Hote told ThePrint.

Open Access | The Sangh’s consistently articulated goal is to cleanse, and then become, this organism. This commitment to sangathan, or collective, the RSS’s leaders have long insisted, is understood as a necessary part of overcoming an alleged Hindu emasculation and disunity. For the Sangh, sangathan is both the means and the end: the path to Hindu Rashtra.
This organicism, therefore, is not simply metaphorical. It is an ecological organising principle, part of the Sangh’s stated goal of “Sangh samaj banega”—the Sangh will become society. The RSS understands that having spawning diverse organisations is not incompatible with organisational singularity. This has been repeatedly articulated by RSS leaders, from Hedgewar:
"As time passes, the direction of RSS founder Dr K B Hedgewar that RSS should not be an organisation within the society, but an organisation of the society."
To Golwalkar:
"The Sangh … has never entertained the idea of building an organisation as a distinct and separate unit within society. Right from its inception the Sangh has clearly marked out as its goal the moulding of the whole of society, and not merely any one part of it, into an organised entity."
To the current RSS spokesperson Sunil Ambekar:
"The Sangh is a network of networks. There is no limit on the number of organisations that can be seeded to support the multiple issues in society that necessitate intervention."
What the world’s first network map of the RSS, revealing over twenty-five hundred organisations with concrete, traceable, material ties leading to the organisation, tell us about how the Sangh functions, Felix Pal (@FelixPal8) explains: https://t.co/OolKtfVegB

What really threatens a democracy?
In A Feast of Vultures, I thought it was corruption. In The Silent Coup, I thought it was our deep state. With Birth of a Nation, I’ve realised something simpler: a republic is easy to lose and hard to preserve.

The one positive thing about the Iran war is that literally every country despises Israel now, having seen it for what it is. Except our andhbhakts, of course…
There you have it. Anthropic's CEO said it: The murder of more than 100 schoolgirls in Minab targeted by Anthropic's CLAUDE "is a use case that doesn't even violate our red lines." Time to rise up against these technofeudal war criminals.

Why shouldn't Judges play badminton in London? India is extremely hot and there are hardly any airconditioned courts. Besides going out in June means away from the dust, heat, pollution, noise, demonstrations, noise from TV channels to traffic on roads. London in June means same Indian friends but in salubrious surroundings. So Judges have judged India accurately on above counts.
Let's not grudge the lords. Our ministers also teach their kids abroad because education system in India is acknowledged by them as not good enough. Our CEOs and families also take holidays abroad bcs there is no place to walk on the mall or top tibba. Besides group dancing is more fun in California or Estonia giving us more name and fame.
From the poor labour to students, wealthy Indians to CEOs, FDIs to Rich Nirav types looking to park ill earned money, and the nouveau rich - all want to move to 'Kaneda', "Umreeka' or 'ingland'.
