I was shown around my neighborhood for the NHK World program “Dive in Tokyo” and ended up learning quite a bit about its history.

I'm excited that the episode featured artists from Ian Martin’s wonderful Koenji label, @carrecords, including Lo-shi, @HikariBunkai, @_WORSTTASTE_, Sun Drawing, and Sea Level.

How unexpected and thrilling to announce that a new short film (loosely connected to a feature I have in post-production) is now being exhibited at The National Art Center, Tokyo.

It has wonderful music and an outstanding cast.

I’ve attended many shows at NAC over the years — including a Yayoi Kusama show with my visiting parents — and never imagined that my own work would be projected there.

After screening in Tokyo, the movie will also be show over the summer at Aichi Arts Center, Osaka City Museum of Fine Arts, and the Kyoto City KYOCERA Museum of Art.

カンヌがおわって、イギリスに講演しに来ています！
カンヌでは毎日トークセッションやポストプロダクション中の長編映画のmtgでバタバタでしたが、たくさんの素敵な出会いと再会があって、本当に感謝しています。
Cannes finished, and I'm now in the UK to give a talk. Was so wonderful returning to the festival, where every day was packed with workshops, panels, and meetings for a feature I have in post-production. A huge thanks to everyone who helped make this possible, and to everyone who showed kindness and support in the midst of such a busy season.

As told on pg 78 of my book "Behind The Kaiju Curtain," 25 years ago today (4/13/01), Hiroshi Sagae took me to Toho to meet the GMK art staff: Miike, Isao, Inatsuki & Kasuga. Everyone was cool & let me poke around & take photos. It was the start of my greatest year of Godzilla.
