CMF is intensifying its humanitarian efforts in response to the severe floods that have affected Mthatha. We are excited to announce that a team has been deployed to work alongside local stakeholders to facilitate additional aid distribution & develop permanent housing solutions.
This week, the CMF team will visit additional displacement centers in Mthatha, including Norwood Centre, housing over 100 displaced individuals who have not yet received formal support & Bambanani Centre, sheltering 80 people who were forcibly relocated from municipal housing.
At these centers in Mthatha, CMF will distribute mattresses, blankets, and food parcels, continuing our essential assistance in Mthatha and surrounding areas since the floods began. #floods#easterncaperloods
The Collen Mashawana Foundation continues to engage with multiple centers in Eastern Cape that are accommodating victims of the Umthatha floods. These centers have been receiving ongoing aid and support from CMF since the disaster occurred. #umthathafloods#EasternCapeFloods
In these difficult times, we are steadfast in our commitment to serve as a symbol of hope in Umthatha, assuring each child that they are not overlooked and that their future is still bright. #umthathafloods#easterncapefloods

This week, we began our journey at the royal residence of the abaThembu king, where we were warmly welcomed by King Buyelekhaya Dalindyebo. We were honored that he joined us in distributing much-needed assistance across various centers in Umthatha. #umthatha#mthathafloods
CMF’s Thatho Mokoena is in discussions with AbaThembu King Dalindyebo regarding land allocation, as many individuals are left without a permanent place to call home. Some residents had settled near the Mthatha Dam, which is believed to have flooded during the recent heavy rains.
Through every blanket we deliver, every warm meal we serve, and every word of comfort we share, we are sending one powerful message: You matter. Your future is still bright. We are not just offering aid — we are rebuilding dreams and restoring dignity #floods#easterncapefloods
We strive to bring joy to the children in Mthatha. While we work together on a more permanent solution, the small acts that bring smiles offer hope to those who have lost everything. #umthathafloods#mthathafloods#collenmashawanafoundation
We believe that our efforts in Eastern Cape will significantly enhance the impact of what has already been provided by Government and other stakeholders #EasternCapeFloods
CMF has a history of supporting many families in different provinces affected by floods, helping them rebuild their homes and lives. Our visit to Umthatha reinforces our ongoing commitment to the elderly, individuals living with disabilities, and child-headed families, which we have consistently upheld over the years. #collenmashawanafoundation #easterncapefloods
Efforts are ongoing in Umthatha, where CMF is connecting with community members impacted by the recent floods. We aim to bring smiles and hope, especially to the elderly and young children. #easterncapefloods#floods#umthatha
This week, we are in Umthatha, Eastern Cape, assisting families impacted by the recent floods that have destroyed homes, leaving many people without their belongings and resulting in some tragic losses of life. As the search for missing individuals continues, I was accompanied today by my colleagues Ndileka Mandela and @ChangeAgentSA , who are actively leading our support and aid efforts. The Umthatha Owners Taxi Association joined us in distributing food, clothing, building materials, mattresses, and blankets. Just as we did during the Mamelodi Floods, KZN Floods, and other disasters, we will collaborate with the government and various partners to rebuild homes in Eastern Cape. We urge other organisations to join us in this effort to help restore the dignity of many South Africans. #collenmashawanafoundation #easterncapefloods #umthatha
The initiatives in Umthatha are ongoing as CMF reaches out to community members affected by the recent floods. We strive to bring joy and hope, particularly to the elderly and young children. #easterncapefloods#floods#umthatha
