The Ahmed Kathrada Foundation and the Timol family invite you to join us in commemorating the 55th anniversary of the murder of Ahmed Timol, who died in apartheid security police custody on 27 October 1971.

As we mark 55 years since his death, we remember Ahmed Timol’s courage and sacrifice in the struggle against apartheid. We honour his memory by reaffirming our commitment to justice, truth, human rights and the ongoing fight against injustice.

Join us as we reflect on his life, remember the circumstances of his death and renew our collective responsibility to preserve the stories of those who sacrificed so much for a democratic and just South Africa.

Moroccan regime misleads its people claiming that Western Sahara is not a decolonization issue; yesterday the regime voted for a resolution calling on UN Special Committee on Decolonization to continue considering Western Sahara as a decolonization issue. How can the regime explain this to its helpless people?

Deputy Director General Maesela Kekana said South Africa will go to COP31 to negotiate taking into consideration national priorities such as reducing unemployment, inequality, and poverty. “South Africa’s role will be solution orientated to close the gap between developing and developed countries” he said.

La Comisión de Descolonización de la ONU aprueba, con una aplastante mayoría de 137 países a favor, una resolución que:

- Reafirma el derecho inalienable del pueblo saharaui a la autodeterminación y la independencia.
- Mantiene el Sáhara Occidental como una cuestión de descolonización pendiente.
- Establece que cualquier solución debe respetar la voluntad libremente expresada del pueblo saharaui.
- Reafirma la responsabilidad de Naciones Unidas hacia el pueblo saharaui.

El texto no reconoce la soberanía marroquí ni establece la autonomía marroquí, apoyada por Sánchez, Trump y Netanyahu, como solución.
