A big step forward for Albania on its path to EU membership!

With Albanian Prime Minister @ediramaal and Cypriot Deputy Minister for European Affairs @marilena_raouna in Brussels today, Albania reached the interim benchmarks, and we set the closing benchmarks for fundamentals such as an independent judiciary and anti-corruption measures.

This is a major milestone as it allows #Albania to start closing negotiating chapters.

Now begins the most demanding phase of the negotiations, preparing to join the Union, and further build the trust with Member States.

The latest police escalation against @herkesicinCHP headquarters is beyond alarming.
This further attempt to intimidate the democratic opposition is unacceptable and further undermines the rule of law in Türkiye.
We stand with CHP, its leader @eczozgurozel, and all those forces in Türkiye defending freedom, justice and democracy.

Ambassador of our country, Serbia, Marko Blagojević, is participating and organizing an Vučić regime’s event in the center of Vienna and by doing so, erasing any formal and remaining line between his party and Serbia.

This well known loyalist and prominent accomplice of the regime of Vučić is flagrantly kidnapping our historic national presence in Vienna and Austria and putting it into the hands of Vučić and his coterie, forgetting his own position and obligations which are stemming from the Vienna Convention.
He and his boss are not Serbia.

Heute zeigt das Regime von Aleksandar Vučić und seiner Serbischen Fortschrittspartei (SNS) erneut, wie groß die Angst vor den eigenen Bürgern geworden ist. Wenige Stunden vor dem angekündigten Großprotest der Studierenden in Belgrad wurde ohne jede nachvollziehbare Erklärung der gesamte Zugverkehr in Serbien eingestellt.

Ganz Serbien steht plötzlich still – ausgerechnet an jenem Tag, an dem Tausende Menschen zur Protestkundgebung auf der Slavija reisen wollen.

Wenn eine Regierung Züge stoppt, um Bürger von Demonstrationen fernzuhalten, dann ist das kein Zeichen von Stärke mehr. Sondern von Panik.

Evropski poslanik iz Austrije @SCHIEDER, povodom jučerašnjeg sastanka Spoljno-političkog odbora Evropskog parlamenta i govora komesarke za proširenje Marte Kos, rekao je za #StudioLive sa @tatjanaaleksic da je utisak svih sa kojima je razgovarao, da uprkos drugim zemljama koje na putu evrointegracija napreduju, Srbija nazaduje. Poslao je upozorenje predsedniku Srbije Aleksandru Vučiću da niko ozbiljan u Evropskom parlamentu ne brani ono što on radi, "njegovi saveznici su se pogubili - on je sada sam".

"Velika je zabrinutost u vezi sa preporukama OEBS i ODIHR o izborima. Poslednji izbori, posebno iz 2023. bili su pod udarom žestokih kritika. Komesarka Kos je jasno rekla da ta pitanja moraju biti rešena pred sledeće izbore u Srbiji. Takođe, ima tu dosta povreda vladavine prave, što čine srpske vlasti i dug spisak preporuka Venecijanske komisije koje moraju da se odmah primene", kazao je Šider.

Bulgarien hat sich in den letzten fünf Jahren in Richtung eines ,failed States’ entwickelt. Auch Radew wird daran mit seinen inhaltsleeren Versprechen nichts ändern - falls es ihm gelingen sollte, eine Regierung zu bilden. Das heutige Ergebnis verspricht nicht nur ein weitere Verschlechterung der politischen Lage im Land und der Lebensrealität der Menschen in Bulgarien, sondern sind ist auch ein Dämpfer für Europa. Mit Radew zieht voraussichtlich der nächste Putin-Freund in den Rat ein und Orbán übergibt somit nur den Staffelstab.

Ungarns Demokratie ist zurück: Der Frust der Menschen in Ungarn ist groß und Orbán hat heute die Rechnung dafür präsentiert bekommen. Der ungarische Premier hat über Jahre ein System der Unterdrückung aufgebaut und das Land niedergewirtschaftet. In der Europäischen Union steht er regelmäßig auf der Bremse und nutzt sein Veto-Recht als Spielfigur, um nicht nur ungarische, sondern auch russische Interesse durchzusetzen. Mit der Abwahl von Viktor Orbán, ist Ungarn heute ein Stück weit zurück nach Europa gekehrt. Das verschafft uns eine Atempause,heißt aber nicht, dass wir uns auf diesem Sieg ausruhen sollten. Rechte Populisten sind längst kein Einzelfall mehr in Europa und das Veto-Recht ist unsere Achillessehne. Es braucht endlich echte Reformen und eine Abschaffung der Einstimmigkeit im Rat.
