Done with my third masters,on my fourth now for the MMED as I plan to start my PhD next year. Education is the only equalizer, youth must continue to chew books.
For the first time time this year I think I have built an arm of MindFiti to the level where I am confident of making positive impact especially with the problem of addiction, tested it end to end upto the payment part and it’s working smoothly. Hope to launch it later in the week or early next week. MindFiti AdRecovery Hub seeks to tackle one of the hardest and most complex mental health issue which is addiction. Gamblers, porn addicts, social media addicts, drug addicts and any form behavioral or substance addiction will smoothly be tackled by the platform.
men are simple creatures — they’ll tell you what they want, show you what they like, and mean exactly what they say. the confusion usually starts when you try to read between lines that don’t exist.
Having experienced university education locally and abroad, I must say that our higher education system is still too analogue. Imagine masters students haven’t progressed anything in terms of lectures for close to two months just because the lecturers are on strike? At this time and age we don’t have student portals where study materials, class modules, assignments, discussions, exams etc can be done online.
Masters should be a student driven learning experience, university portals shouldn’t only be about fees,ID,exam cards and the funny things I see there. So doleful!
I have worked as a consultant in setting up healthcare facilities in a functional healthcare system and I am perplexed that people don’t get why we don’t need a new level 6 sijui 4000 bed capacity in Eldoret. Let me tell you the moment you find yourself in KNH or MTRH you’re probably at late secondary or tertiary stage of illness. There’s almost a 30-50% chance you’ll die, infact 70% of the patients I referred to MTRH when I used to work in Bungoma died as they had serious conditions like advanced cancer, rheumatological conditions, surgical complications etc. That’s why I insist instead of spending billions on such, the national government should have a special allocation channel with the county to improve on other level 4 and 5s in counties. What this does is it improves healthcare accessibility, affordability and quality more on the ground. It is very difficult currently to get admitted in Level 6 hospitals, they don’t solve a huge bulk of our healthcare problems neither do they address the universal health coverage we keep talking about.
You’re more likely to die if you leave your home and get admitted at a level 6 hospital than if you were transferred as a referral from a lower level 4/5 hospital.
In short that level 6 hospital in Eldoret won’t solve our healthcare issues. Bungoma has plans for a level 6,JOORTH is now a level 6 and most likely Kakamega will have one. The question of traffic doesn’t make sense,Improve and better the current MTRH and use the rest of the money for other lower healthcare facilities through more county allocation unless someone wants to eat.
This is basic healthcare management 101.
