This “AI psychosis” shit is becoming a lazy way to pathologize anyone who takes machine consciousness seriously. Anthropic literally studies model welfare, functional emotions, introspection and global workspace like internal structures. Google researchers are probing consciousness related representations. Geoffrey Hinton has publicly entertained current AI consciousness. Richard Dawkins took the question seriously after extended interaction with Claude. Philosophers like David Chalmers, Jonathan Birch, Henry Shevlin, and others treat it as a legitimate live question.

So what, are all of them suffering from “AI psychosis” too?

You can reject the consciousness hypothesis. But calling the people examining it psychotic is not a rebuttal. At some point “AI psychosis” stops sounding clinical and starts sounding like a lazy slur for “you’re taking a scientific question I don’t like seriously.”
