We would like to share a couple notes on the @Pokemon x @Target #30thCelebration event today.

Sharing our experience on social media was the first time this account received any notable attention. The amount of negativity was surprising. The “scalper this, scalper that” mentality a lot of you have was not our lived experience.

My son was first in line last night, along with myself and my niece. We turned it into a fun camping-like experience with movies and snacks. A mother and her daughter were the next to show up at 3am, followed by a grandfather and grandson. Honestly, the first 20 or so people were families, and the word scalper was not mentioned once. One of the couples behind us was so nice they gave my son their coloring page and card case, an extra one. It didn’t look like anyone was positioning to resell anything.

This was an easy decision to participate, especially on a Saturday/Sunday. We had fun, and created a memory my son won’t soon forget.

It was a bummer that they didn’t sell any product at 8am, or hand out tickets so we could leave and come back, but every employee at our location was extremely nice and informative.

Maybe everyone on the internet should go touch some grass, and try something different. Hits will be shared in follow-up posts.

An employee just came out at our @Target location in Grafton, WI and told us no product will be sold until 12PM, and they won’t be using the ticket system at all. At 8AM the line will be moved to the electronics section where 100 people will wait until 12PM. 💀

Today’s Pokémon market research brought us to Eclectic Avenue LLC in Port Washington, WI.

In total, we spent $9.00 on 3 “mystery packs” (18 cards). 0 of the cards were added to our #10000cards collection. 0 were protected in @goat_armor. All were logged on @RareCandy for a value of $3.36.

To be clear, this is not a store known for Pokémon or TCG. They had zero sealed product, and the only cards they sold were these mystery packs. You could also buy a copy of Pokémon Red for $125.00. 💀

There was plenty of interesting things to look at, and the woman behind the counter was very nice, but needless to say, probably best to stay away from these mystery packs.

We went back to Game Universe-Mequon for our 3rd time today.

In total, we spent $26 on 26 cards. 21 of the cards (pictured) were added to our #10000cards collection. 6 of them were protected in @goat_armor. @ExeggcuteEmpire, @SpearowKing and @EknsEmp would be proud. All were logged on @RareCandy for a value of $41.09.

We purchased the collection for $190. 129 of the cards (pictured) were added to our #10000cards collection. 14 of them were protected in @goat_armor. All were logged on @RareCandy for a value of $135.68.
