For the brave of heart, it’s not the fear that’ll get ya. It’s the boredom. The waiting.

We’re now into what seems to be (and mathematically can be justified as) the longest bear market in crypto history. 600 + days of pure pain.

Congratulations. If you’ve made it this far, you’ve got something that most people don’t have. Conviction. Bravery. The stuff of myth and legend.

Now we’re getting to the dicey part. The saddest stretch, where I saw some of the most haunting mistakes I’ve ever seen made back in 2019 and 2020.

There’s a point in every bear market, where the fear-based capitulation mostly stops and we enter something I call boredom-based capitulation. There’s also an element of “bleeding out”. Expenses are piling up. Your loved ones think you’re crazy. You might be living with your parents (if you’re lucky), I know I was.

Remember, conviction isn’t the issue here. If you’re still around you probably believe that the future is peer to peer and relies a lot less on banks and traditional governments when it comes to systems that facilitate exchange of value.

It’s the ticking clock that that’s your enemy now. Your ability to finish the race without bleeding out. The marathon.

I can’t tell you when this period will end. This time last cycle, ETH was ~180 bucks. It was October 2019, down from 1400, and it seemed like the future might never come. Maybe for another generation. Another group more blessed than us.

It wasn’t until July/August of 2020, which would correlate to July/August of 2024, that things started to percolate. Defi summer. Binance approved our AXS launchpad application. 4chan traders discovered our community (and SLP on Uniswap :D)

So if you locked me in a room and forced me to estimate how long we need to hang on for, it’d be somewhere there. About another 10 months or so.

There are far more people here this time committed to building for decades. I have more conviction than last time but also feel the far heftier weight of our collective dreams. So don’t let this period get to you. Find a way to survive.

The things we’ve built this bear market far outweigh what we did in the last.

• Origins with 100 K MAU
• Classic with 40 K
• The smoothest mint of all time on Ronin (Genkai)
• A steady stream of games, some with tons of pre-existing traction like Pixels, are joining the warrior, philosopher Ronin ecosystem

We can no longer count the number of axie games on one hand.

Ronin is now THE place to build and launch a web3 game. Part evolutions are on the way. The illuminated path to victory is crystal clear.

We’ve got ‘em right where we want ‘em.

Axie is the NFT project with the longest history of continuous development. Every other NFT project from 2017/2018 has either given up or bled out. Pour one out for the fallen.

I’m here. We will keep building. We will keep running.

We will finish the race.
