@nicktheiihffan Can't remember if there has ever been this much turnover in a roster this quickly . Even if the team doesn't win this year as long as there is a plan to 2030 , I can live with this .

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@nicktheiihffan What do you think ? I didn't expect this many changes but I like it, as the games vs the Americans the last 2 years the same roster can't cut it . And Canada was the oldest team at the Olympics on average age by a mile

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@24thminute Argentina 🇦🇷!!! A rematch with all teams of their 2024 Copa America group

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@iggyfan2001 @24thminute @globeandmail True and in many ways Germany is similar to the USA. Very popular in some regions like Bavaria and cities like Koln and Düsseldorf for example. But many parts of the country the sport is non existent

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@BenSteiner00 @goal Good article Ben as usual. My 2 cents on the CPL is I see it lasting until at least and including 2028. If there isn't any signs of more investment, attendance, etc. by then I can see the owners may not want to continue

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@24thminute @iggyfan2001 @globeandmail Czechia and Slovakia too . Though I agree the number of countries into hockey is small

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@Sz1909_Szemberg The performances of their junior teams is concerning. Do you think after this generation retires the Swiss maybe back where they were before ? Like what Germany is.

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@JanAageFjortoft As a Canadian well done . Always thought Norway 🇳🇴 has untapped potential in ice hock if only the sport can get more traction in the country.

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@SEllisHockey Excellent win for Norway let's see if they can make it to the quarterfinals in over 10 years

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@danclarke999 Feels like once Six Five expanded their ownership to Vancouver FC in 2023 both teams have been incompetent both on and off field . Probably not a coincidence since their resources to support both teams are stretched thin

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@Sz1909_Szemberg Don't disagree but maybe we should take the worlds for what it is . A fun tournament to follow and attend to celebrate the end of the hockey season. Of course nice to win the tournament but as a Canadian that is how I have always see this tournament.

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@OnTheFly1515 @SEllisHockey Definitely a surprise and good on the Germans for showing plenty of fight. As for the Czechs the old adage rings true, let an underdog stick around and you will pay.

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@nicktheiihffan I didn't see the game but outside of Clara and Fadani how well did the rest of the Italian team play? 60 shots is eye opening but did they limit dangerous chances and kept the Swedes to the perimeter and were structured in their play?

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@OnTheFly1515 @SickosCommittee Concerning for the future too as the U18 team got relegated .

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@jabo_vancouver @xerxes_master And Frank Caprice was left in the net for the entire game

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@24thminute Correct me if I am wrong I believe a while ago you did state the investors will give it a couple of seasons after the World Cup to see if there is a bump in attendance and revenue. It won't be the 2026 season and that is it . More like 2028, after that is the big question mark

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@CaseyToGo Wonder if this is actually Valour saying goodbye to Winnipeg and hello to Quebec

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@danclarke999 I am taking a guess that it would be ValourFC. Despite its problems I don't see the BC teams going anywhere yet.

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@imrk_acharya @HockeyCanada It is 4 year for the men and 2 for women . And you can only switch once . I believe U18 tournaments may not count

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@footy_prime @CNationsLeague @theVoiceVendor @jamessharman @DanWongsez @JimmyBrennan11 @craigforrest1 @amy13walsh Wasn't until after World Cup 94 when Keller and Freidel got their real chance. Meola didn't get another cap until 1999 .

[Alex Luk @Axluk77Alex]

@footy_prime @CNationsLeague @theVoiceVendor @jamessharman @DanWongsez @JimmyBrennan11 @craigforrest1 @amy13walsh To answer the question on other American goalkeepers during the early to mid 90s Kasey Keller and Brad Freidel were also in the pool. But for whatever reason Coach Bora Milutinovic favoured Meola over the others .
