Nigeria has not solved ONE national problem since independence. Not one. This video confirms it, alongside campaign posters and videos from the 80s, despite billions of dollars spent in budgetary allocations.

Why?

We lack systems-thinking. Zero cause and effect analysis.

People we consider intelligent are telling us that to improve the quality of our universities, we need to increase the school fees. People with PhD are advising that to improve literacy rates, we should build more classrooms and buy 21st century gadgets. Experts are telling us that solar power energy is a better investment, just be ready to spend N25-30m in a country where the minimum wage is N70,000. Politicians are telling us they need more taxes to improve the country.

But, look closely at instances where fees were increased or taxes imposed, has life EVER gotten better there? Every time your school fees got increased in the past, did you experience a better life as a student? Well, you will not. And it’s simple - we don’t have the mental capacity to solve problems. We also bypass problems and hope the problem fades away.

Simply put, we are clowns!
